Definitions

  • Zoning is a set of rules adopted by the City that defines what land could or should be used for (such as housing, manufacturing or open space). Zoning codes try to keep different uses and building forms from being in conflict with one another.

  • The construction or redevelopment of buildings on land that is already developed or within developed areas, but is underutilized or unused. Infill development can include: building on vacant land, renovating existing properties, and adding units to existing residential or commercial lots.
